Minimum wage earners in Connecticut are poised to get a raise. July 29, 2021, at 3:05 p.m. Beginning Sunday, the state’s current $12 an hour rate will increase to $13 an hour. It’s the latest step toward gradually increasing the rate to $15 an hour.
In May 2021, Rhode Island passed a bill to bring minimum wage to $15 on Jan. 1, 2025.
Washington tops the list of states with the highest minimum wage while 15 states tie for last in terms of the lowest — $7.25, which is the federal minimum wage, according to the U.S. Department of Labor.
