An Olympic Triathlon is a 51.5 kilometers long race, with a 1.5K swim, a 40K bike, and a 10K run. For elite female triathletes, breaking 2 hours in the distance is a great time.
Average Olympic Triathlon Times
High-caliber professionals will often finish Olympic triathlons in around 2 hours or less, with the men’s record currently at just over 1 hour, 46 minutes. But for top age groupers, Olympic distance triathlon times typically range between 2 and 2 ½ hours.
To finish near the top of your age category, under 1.5 hours is a good ballpark time. Elite men and women typically finish under the one hour mark, although women might be a little bit higher. Obviously, this depends on the race course and how hilly it is, as well as the weather.
40k is a little shorter than a 25 mile tt so around an hour would be pretty good. Check out the draft rules and get clip-on tri-bars if appropriate – they can make a huge difference.
You basically go for as many laps as you can in 30 min. While there is a debate on the true value of this swim as it’s directed by most non-TI masters coaches, if you swim at a pace of 2:00 per 100m, then you should make 1500m in 30 min.
The distances essentially double—an Olympic-distance triathlon includes a 0.93-mile (1.5K) swim, a 24.8-mile (40K) bike and a 6.2-mile (10K) run. It’s just far enough to challenge you without making your training feel overwhelming.
The first way to qualify is through a normal USAT Sanctioned age group triathlon of any distance. These events include all non-championship events. Olympic-Distance: To qualify, athletes must either place in the top three (3) or in the top 25% of finishers in their age group.
Realistically, for an open water 750m swim, we want to be under the 20 minute mark. We know that 15 minute swim times can be done by those swimming at 2:00/100m, 20 mins is broken for those swimming 2:40s or faster. This is quite a big difference, so it is worth targeting a CSS pace of 2:30/100m.

Any healthy adult should be able to cycle 50 km in eight hours, assuming the route is not hilly.
One hour would be a really good time ! That would be 25 miles per hour average . That is close to what amateur bike racers would average on a flat bicycle road race course. One hour and 15 minutes would be 20 miles per hour average.
Most college level swimmers would swim 1000m in around 15 – 20 min (or faster) in a training environment.

The run is the final challenge. There is a saying that “there is no such thing as a bad run off a good bike”, meaning that the skill of a good cycle leg also includes saving enough energy for the run afterwards.
The International Olympic Committee, the Games’ organizing body, doesn’t pay any athletes who participate in a particular Olympiad, or give out prize money for medals. It’s akin to how leagues like the NFL and the NBA don’t pay players; instead, individual teams in the league are responsible for providing compensation.
With that said, triathlon is a healthy sport to participate in due to its positive impact on our cardiovascular health, brain health and bone health.
The Olympic triathlon takes more time than a marathon and has 3 sections, including a 1,500 meter swim which is tough for runners. The bike leg takes a lot out of your legs too but the run is a 10K which makes it doable.
It took me 22 minutes to complete the 750m, which is quite slow. If you are fit and can do 750m in the pool I don’t think you will have any problems in the sea. . +1. A 750m swim is incredibly easy.
Fastest guy 11 minutes, average times seems to be around 16-17 minutes so with your current time would bring you in, in the middle of the pack. 15min would have brought you in around top-25%.

An ultra-triathlon is a long-distance triathlon. The term generally refers to all triathlon events with a distance that is a multiple of the Ironman Triathlon, which consists of 2.4 miles (3.86 km) of swimming, 112 miles (180.25 km) of cycling, and a full marathon (26.2 mi or 42.2 km) of running.
Most Ironman races allow you 17 hours to complete all three parts of the race. Usually, the race begins at 7 a.m. You are expected to finish the swim in 2 hours and 20 minutes; the bike ride done by 5:30 p.m.; and the marathon completed by midnight.
What and how much should you eat? … As a general rule of thumb, endurance athletes should aim to eat 60-90 grams of carbohydrate per hour during IRONMAN events, with athletes typically able to consume more calories and fluids during the bike leg and fewer calories during the run portion of the event.
