Click the heading of the section you want to move and drag it to a new location in the pane. A black line appears as you are moving through the headings in your document. When you release your mouse, the heading and the information in it drops below the black line to reorder your pages.
Click the View tab and check the box for Navigation Pane. When the tool opens on the left side of your document, click Headings in the pane. Select the heading for the page you want to move and drag it to its new location in the Headings list.
Rearrange pages or sections
Click View in the toolbar, choose Show Page Thumbnails, select the page or section thumbnail, then drag it to where you want it in the page hierarchy.

You can’t insert a section break in a layout document because layout documents don’t have sections; each page it its own section. See Creating Sections: In a page layout document, each page is one section. You can use the predefined sections as they are, or you can modify or remove them one page at a time.
Click the Insert tab. Click the Cover Page button to open a drop-down gallery of cover page templates. Click a cover page template to insert it into your document. Customize the cover page with your text.
Page thumbnails: Shows thumbnails of all the pages in your document. In this view, you can rearrange document sections and navigate to a particular page by clicking its thumbnail. It appears on the left side of the Pages window.
Find a recently opened file: In Pages, choose File > Open Recent (from the File menu at the top of your screen), then choose the document. Pages shows the last ten documents you opened.
suggests that you have “Different First Page” enabled and have either a PAGE field or the number 1 in the First Page Header. So open the primary Header (from the first or any subsequent page), select the 2, and press Alt+Shift+P to replace it with a PAGE field.
Now in the Design tab, Header & Footer grouping, under the drop down arrow by Page Number, click on Format Page Numbers. The Page Number Format dialog box comes up. Under Page numbering select Start at and select the number you want it to be or start the number at and then click OK.
Double-click the header or footer area (near the top or bottom of the page) to open the Header & Footer tab. Check Different First Page to see if it’s selected. If not: Select Different First Page.
To put a blank page into your Word document, place the cursor where you want the new page to begin and then click Insert > Blank Page. The blank page opens, ready for whatever you want to add. Another option when you need a little space is to insert a page break.
If you added section breaks to your document, the easiest way to see where they begin and end is to show formatting marks. Go to Home, and select Show all nonprinting characters. Select the section break and then press Delete.
The reason it would be greyed out is you are trying to insert it into a place where page breaks are not possible or allowed. I believe they should be possible between sections or in non repeating sections.
If it is not in or at the end of the body text, that would explain Page Beak being greyed—If you haven’t specified where something is to be inserted (by placing the insertion point at that location), Pages won’t let you insert it.
What’s the difference between Styles and Style Sets? Styles are applied to a character, word, or paragraph. Style Sets affect the entire document. Styles are found on the Home tab, while Style Sets are found on the Design tab.
There are two types of page breaks: manual or hard page break (you create) and automatic or soft page break (computer creates).
On the Insert tab, in the Pages group, click Cover Page. Click a cover page layout from the gallery of options. After you insert a cover page, you can replace the sample text with your own text by clicking to select an area of the cover page, such as the title, and typing your text.
