Measure the length from the top-left to the bottom-right corner of your screen. This will give you the diagonal screen size, which is the most common measurement used when buying a screen.
100-inch Diagonal, 16:9 Aspect Ratio. View Size: 49.0″ H x 87.0″ W. Overall Size: 53.7″ H x 91.9″ W x 1.6″ D.
120-inch Diagonal, 16:9 Aspect Ratio. View Size: 58.8″ H x 104.6 W. Overall Size: 63.5″ H x 109.3″ W.
180-inch Diagonal, 16:9 Aspect Ratio. View Size: 88.3″ H x 156.9″ W. Overall Size: 100.7″ H x 168.3″ W x 3.1″ D.
150-inch Diagonal, 16:9 Aspect Ratio. View Size: 73.6″ H x 130.7″ W. Overall Size: 78.3″ H x 135.4″ W x 1.6″ D.
Projector Screen Height: To calculate the projector screen height, multiply the diagonal by approximately 0.495. (In other words the height of the screen is just a bit less than 50% of the diagonal.
Registered. 120″ 16:9 is approx 9′ wide. I would sit at 8′ to 9′ for that immersive THX angle. But a lower quality AT screen will restrict such close distance.
BIGGER SCREEN SIZE THAN THE SIMILAR: The diagonal length of our inflatable screen frame is 16ft and the projection screen length is 10.49:6.1ft.
92-inch Diagonal, 16:9 Aspect Ratio. View Size: 45.0″ H x 79.9″ W. Overall Size: 46.1″ H x 81.2″ W x 1.3″ D.

You should ideally use your projector’s manual or manufacturer’s website to calculate the best distance from the screen for your particular projector. However, a good rule of thumb for a 100-inch screen, is to have your projector between 122 and 133-inches, or around 10.5ft.

The old rule of thumb for 1080p is to sit right around 1.5 times your diagonal image size. Which in your case for a 135” screen would be about 16/17 feet back so you’re pretty much right on the money.
The absolute “best” distance between the projector screen and room seating is hard to calculate. Instead, a general rule is that seats should be located a distance that is no less than double the width of the projected image, and no more than five times the width of the image (the furthest seat from the screen.)
Essentially, it describes the shape of the rectangle. Today the most popular aspect ratio for consumer video display is 16:9, which is the standard HDTV format. The numbers mean that the picture is 16 units wide for every 9 units in height.
Maximum Recommended Audience Size: 16:9 Screen | Recommended Screen Dimensions |
---|---|
100 | 5.5′ tall x 10′ wide |
200 | 7′ x 12′ |
250 | 8′ x 14′ |
300 | 9′ x 16′ |
The Silver Ticket screen is the best because it has good image quality that introduces only a small amount of tint, it’s easy to build and very affordable, and just plain looks nice.
So, if the width of your TV is 55 inches, the minimum viewing distance should be 110 inches or around 9 feet, while the maximum distance should be 275 inches or no more than 23 feet. In short, the first row of recliners should be placed at least 9 feet away from the screen.
Most modern monitor screen sizes range from less than 21 inches to well over 30 and are practically priced for your needs.
