To join the Minutemen a character should first encounter and assist Preston Garvey at the Museum of Freedom in Concord. This quest can be encountered very early in the game. After clearing the Raiders and Deathclaw from Concord, lead Garvey north to Sanctuary.Nov 3, 2016
Siding with the Minutemen means taking up arms against the Institute and Brotherhood of Steel. To side with the Minutemen, you must establish eight settlements throughout the Commonwealth. Preston Garvey will offer intel to help guide you in the right direction.
To recruit settlements, listen to Radio Freedom or talk to Preston to receive information about settlements that have requested aid. Once there are eight settlements, the Castle will come under attack by the Institute, triggering Defend the Castle.
If you love taking on quest after quest (especially repeatable ones), you should stick with The Minutemen. Many Minutemen quests will lead to settlements that will support the group’s cause. Those settlements, in turn, will have more quests for you.
The Minutemen do not have their own ending quest unless you spoil your relationship with the Institute. At that point, you’ve got to either work with them (through the quest Burning Cover via Railroad) or continue working with the Brotherhood of Steel to finish the game.
Variations. Brotherhood and the Minutemen allied – with the Brotherhood’s new sentinel being none other but the Minutemen general, the two factions are technically in alliance.
One can call off the operation (failing the quest) or have her perform a traditional replacement op. If you do so, you will find Piper inspecting Fake Piper’s corpse and confirming that she was a synth to DC’s people.
They’re basically the neutral option and seek to help rebuild the world instead of imposing their beliefs or philosophy on other groups. Other groups may have cooler toys to play with, but the Minutemen are arguably the best of the Fallout 4 factions to align with.
You need to recruit 8 settlements for the minutemen.
In total, there are 10 The Minutemen quests you can complete in Fallout 4.
You need the Minutemen for things like Artillery, and they may be an option later in the game if you fall out of good standing with the Brotherhood/Institute/Railroad and want to finish the main story, but they really aren’t tied to the Settlement system at all. You’re free to explore, do side quests, and other things.
Join? Yes indeed. In fact, you are tacitly encouraged to join all four of them. The thing is, as you progress down the various faction plot lines, eventually each and every one of the four factions is going to force to betray another one, possibly two of the others.
This ending is very difficult to complete and involves doing quests in a special order, the result is a new ending with recorded dialog options unable to be achieved in other endings.
Yes, you can side with the Brotherhood and not kill the Railroad. Just work all the way until they ask you to destroy the Railroad, you know without actually agreeing to do it, then start Mass Fusion with the Institute. Immediately leave the Institute and tell the Brotherhood about Mass Fusion.
A lot of people share the same opinion, which is that The Institute is the most evil faction in the Commonwealth. In truth, especially if you side with them, the Brotherhood of Steel is. The Institute has, and always had a sole goal to achieve; the preservation of mankind, and it’s future.
9 Animosity with the brotherhood
Nick Valentine’s unique character has put him at animosity with the Brotherhood of Steel. This is a group of military soldiers, with officers posted across America. This group discriminates against anyone who isn’t human, and members aren’t afraid to say what they really think.
Nick likes both the Minutemen and Railroad.
Father (Shuan) mentions that he was part Synth some hybrid or someshit, thats how you viewed his memories with the doctor chick and Nick Valentine. Kellogg had cybernetic implants from the CIT which prolonged his life beyond normal. Shaun said he’s been an Institute muscle long before he was there.
Cait, 25 – Wiki says 27, but all we know is that she started working at the Combat Zone at around 21, and you meet her a few years after that.
You can only have one companion with you at a time, so when you meet another and decide to recruit them, you can send them back to any Settlements you’ve claimed in Fallout 4. Companions never die.
The Minutemen are able to fight against much more powerful factions only because (if you decide) you do lots of help there and work. Yes, they can become big powerful factions only if you allow.
North Providence, Rhode Island, U.S. James Walter Gilchrist Jr. is an American political activist and the co-founder and president of the Minuteman Project, an activist group whose aim is to prevent illegal immigration across the southern border of the United States.
Minutemen (The Good) The Minutemen are almost the default faction for players to align themselves with, offering the most simple road to story completion. They offer the most clear-cut “good ending” in the game, allowing players to explore the wastelands guilt free.
Because of this, it’s hard to term the two factions as “enemies” per se, as they don’t actually know about each other. Early in the Fallout 4 game, the Minutemen are practically wiped out, with only Preston Garvey still willing to claim that he belongs to the faction.
They never end, that is kind of the point; always something to do. Someone mentioned talking to Preston, and right before he tells you the next assignment; turn around and walk away. That may stop the quests, hopefully there will be a mod that will disable/curtail them.
You should receive the chance to start this quest after completing few main and minor (random) quests for Minutemen. During the conversation with Preston Garvey in the Sanctuary, he will ask for your help in reclaiming the Castle that was the main quarter of the Minutemen in the past.
Sold by Tinker Tom at the Railroad HQ after completing The Nuclear Option for the Railroad. Six are given by Preston Garvey after completing The Nuclear Option for the Minutemen, and upon destroying the Prydwen.
Pretty sure it’s impossible to do so. They are kind of like the back up faction, if you become enemies with the other three, you always have the minutemen to finish the game.
