Problem: You’re unable to select and change the text in the footer at the bottom of your slides. Solution: If the text you want to edit is truly in a footer, you should be able to edit it by going to the Insert tab and then clicking Header & Footer.
Double-click anywhere on the header or footer to unlock it.
On the Review tab of the Ribbon click the Unprotect Document button to unlock a locked passage.
Enter your content in the footer. Click on the Options button at the top of the header, go to Footer Format, and make sure that the footer applies to only this section. Now go to the footer of next page and UN-check the box for “Link to previous.” Now your footer will be only on that one page.
Select Insert > Header & Footer. On the right side of the white area at the top of the document area, select Options > Different Even & Odd Pages. Type the text you want to appear on even pages. Select Odd Pages, and then type the text you want to appear on odd pages.
Click the Insert tab at the top of the window. Click the Footer drop-down menu in the Header & Footer section of the ribbon, then click the Remove Footer button at the bottom of the menu. The entire footer will now be gone from every page of your document.
Show footer information on your slides
Click INSERT > Header & Footer. On the Slide tab, check Footer. In the box below Footer, type the text that you want, such as the presentation title. Check Date and time to add that to your slides.
Check the “Allow only this type of editing in the document” box and select “Filling in forms” option. Next click “Select sections” to invoke the “Section Protection” dialog box. In that box, check only “Section 1” box and click “OK”.
Open the template that you want to assign a password to. On the Review tab, in the Protect group, click Restrict Editing. Under Start enforcement, click Yes, Start Enforcing Protection. Type a password in the Enter new password (optional) box, and then confirm the password.
Highlight the file(s) you want to unlock, and click alt-cmd-i to open a “Multiple Get Info” window. Untick “Locked”.
1. Click File > Info > Check for Issues > Inspect Document, see screenshot: 2. In the popped-out Document Inspector dialog box, only check the Header, Footers, and Watermarks option in the dialog box, make sure other options unchecked.
A split screen in Microsoft Word is meant to be helpful when you are writing or editing a section of your document, but you need to refer to a different section at the same time. Using a split screen prevents the need to scroll back and forth between these two locations.
Go to File > Page Setup on the menu. Click the Layout tab. In the Section start drop-down list, select the type of section you want to change it to (‘New page’ is the same as ‘Next page’ under Insert > Break). Click OK.
Section breaks are intricately tied in with the File Page setup options of Different First Page and Different Odd/Even Headers and Footers. … Well…that’s because it’s linked to the First Page header of the previous section and not the (main) Header of the previous section.
Re: I NEED TO COMPLETELY GET RID OF THE SPACE ALLOCATED TO HEADERS AND FOOTERS. On the Page Layout tab of the ribbon, in the Page Setup group, click Margins > Custom Margins… Set Top, Header, Bottom and Footer to 0, then click OK.
