Biscotti 06 Sep 2014. Remember there’s a couple different types of 20 gallon tanks: Regular 20G, 20G Long, and 20G High. The one that meets the 360 square inch is the 20 gallon LONG tank (30″ x 12″ x 12″).
Multiply its width by its height by its depth. The result is the cubic feet of space the tank holds. Multiply the result by 7.48. The answer is the number of gallons of water the tank holds.

After all, they are smaller and cheaper! But a 10 gallon tank for hamster of any breed is I’m afraid going to be too small in most cases. Some hamsters are very sedentary or shy, but most like to explore, play and run around. A hamster 10 gallon tank simply doesn’t give them enough area to do so.

EDIT #2 : so i decided to ask my dad and he has confirmed it being a 75 gallon tank (: yay!! That comes out to being 864 square inches which is well above the minimum requirements! YAAAAA!!!! How much substrate do you need? The general recommendation is at least 3 inches. Not only will this amount be pleasing to look at, but it is also deep enough to allow plants to root without floating away.
In most cases, a 2-inch layer of gravel will look rather thin in a 75-gallon tank. Most people with large tanks prefer to have a substrate layer that is 3-4 inches deep to fill out the tank. Which means you may need upwards of 224 pounds of gravel to get the look you desire in a 75 gallon aquarium.
